The object is realized starting from a perimeter band welded at the ends which is then formed for roughing hammer and subsequent flattening of the shape obtained. These phases include the use of different types of hammer and supporting surfaces ranging from wood (for roughing) to steel (for smoothing). The more "pronounced" lines are obtained with the chisel after filling the object of pitch.
Then we weld, using the flame, the rim to the edge and, in the same way, we apply the bottom plate and handles obtained by casting in sand.
We finish the object with three stages of grinding, buffing and polishing.
If you are lucky enough to have one of these objects try to count the hammer's imprints ....
